Robert Raushenberg has always inspired me. Not only with my own art work but just in life in general. His art work has made people learn to look again and to really understand the piece of art. His use of mix media has always been well thought out and it is always intentional within his work. This piece above has always been one of my favorite works of art from him. The burns in a way form the shape of the United States. The arched back of the male in the image is like he is hiding. The placement of the American flag with the burnt affect a crossed it leaves a silent impression of the American dream and the American past.
